]]> If you live on Long Island and need Flood Insurance there is a good chance you should obtain a FEMA elevation certificate from a licensed land surveyor. Scalice Land Surveying specializes in these certificates and should be your first call!

Growing up on the South Shore of Long Island I witnessed first hand the devastation flooding can have on a community and the cost associated with high insurance premiums. Getting a flood certificate may help bring down some of those costs. In some flood prone areas flood certificates are required before you can even be approved for flood insurance. If you are raising your home (like many are on the South Shore of Long Island) flood certificates are required before and after you raise your home. If you are unsure if you need a flood certificate or if obtaining a flood certificate could lower your premiums contact your insurance agent for guidance.
